Vote swapping is where 2 people from different district or states agree to vote for each other candidates. An example would be like this for President this year.

McCain has no chance to win in Illinois, but the race in Ohio will be close and votes for Bob Barr could make McCain lose. A person from Ohio wants to support the Libertarian Party, but knowing they can't win finds a person in Illinois who is willing to vote for Barr and in return the Ohio person votes for McCain.

This serves 2 purposes. The Libertarian Party gets a higher percentage of the Popular Vote, Secondly it does not affect the outcome of the Presidential race, i.e. no spoiler. In the long run this strengthens the Libertarian or other third party by getting them better name recognition and an automatic placement on State ballots making it easier for them to run candidates in the future.

Vote swapping was taken to court several years ago and was ruled Constitutional because it is a private agreement between two parties. I'll have to find the court case sometime if you want it.

True. Most reality shows are garbage. There are a few that aren't though. Most are edited so much that you wonder if things are set up. I have also noticed, recently, that some reality shows that didn't have anything to do with having a sexual content in it, now does. I exercise my finger and shut it off or turn it to something else. Change-two- three... :)

Sorry but Idol and most other reality shows are stupid. I like to get on the computer and play while my family watches it and then have fun with the kids about who is getting kicked off.

Hollywood produces many more selfish, egotistical and pompous brats and adults than they do good role models. It didn't use to be this way, but it gets worse each and every year.

You are probably correct about this being all about publicity. It is also very possible that they were just trying to push the envelope in trying to reach the younger generation.

Unfortunately, Barr doesn't have much of a chance. Maybe this year we'll have to do some vote swapping to help out the popular vote total for the Libertarian Party.
